Working on the tailcone

We are making progress on the RV-12. The stabilator is all finished and Thereasa even filled in all the rivets on it as well as the fuselage. This is done with a substance called SuperFil and it does a nice job of filling in the little holes left in the pop rivets. We now are at about 11,000 pop rivets pulled.
We tried to go flying today, but found a flat nose tire on the airplane and I had to order a new inner tube first. So no flying until that gets fixed.


This shows how the construction of the tailcone is started. The bottom skins are suspended from 2 sawhorses and the frames are then sttached to the skins in that position. This is due to the frames having no substance until they are attached to something.


The assembly is turned right side up and the sideskins are attached - see next picture.
