Tail feathers, etc.
Today I finished up bolting on the tail feathers - that is the vertical stabilizer, rudder and stabilator (combination horizontal stabilizer and elevator). The past few days were spent on the rear window fitting. The window is made of polycarbonate sheet, which comes as a flat sheet and is bent into the curvature of the window. I thought about trying to mold this into the shape it is supposed to have by bending it in place and placing some heat under it. This did not do anything to it as it was just as straight after the heat was applied. This is probably more than you wanted to know about that, but that is why this is called experimental aircraft building.
This is the jury-rig of the attempt to mold the window. It fits fine bending it into place.
It is beginning to look like an airplane. The wings are finished and at the airport.
