On the gear
We put the landing gear on, along with brakes and brake lines. There is still a lot of sanding of fibreglass to be done. It was time to take it out in the driveway, so we could open the canopy and mark the trimming required on the forward corners of the fibreglass.
"The Great Escape" from the garage. The tail still needs to be held up with a sawhorse due to no engine in the front yet.
This shows the fibreglass layup that had to be made to blend the canopy to the fuselage and hinge area.
The struts to hold the canopy up have not been reinstalled because the canopy has to come off to be trimmed. Thereasa held it open while I marked the trimming required.
This shows the forward upper corner of the hinge area that needs to be trimmed to clear the skin.
