The engine is hung!
The engine is now bolted to the aircraft and progress is made. Prior to bolting the engine in place, we had to disassemble some of the parts to make room for a cooling duct that goes under the intake manifold. As much as we paid for the engine one would think the factory would have done that. We also received a "care package" from Van's for the fuel tank fix, so this morning we worked on the fuel tank first and then moved on to the engine.
This is how we hung the engine in place. The engine only weighs about 160 pounds at that point and hangine it from the garage door opener rail worked very well.
Almost into position.
The bolts and rubber donuts in place
All bolts torqued and cargo straps removed.
